SE7EN will be filming a new music video of his single “Girls” that features Lil’ Kim very soon. Darkchild, the producer of “Girls” is also set to cameo. Raging Nation Films wll be filming the music video. Rage, the director seems very confident about the song as stated in his blog.
A few other websites have reported this as well. One of which did not to know the singer beforehand. Both websites have provided a youtube video of the track. This provides a little bit further exposure for SE7EN.
BoA is on the Billboards Hot Dance Club Play at #37 as of this week. This is the second week. Though not success, it is progress. It has to reach high on the main Billboard charts before congratulations are in order.
We have to note before that Hikaru Utada reached #1 on Billboard Club Charts with very little promotion and look how her debut turned out.
After a number of leaked tracks and lack of activity, SE7EN continues where he left off and will continue some of his promotional activities, starting with a preview party and special holiday event at Freemont Studio in Seattle, Washington on December 13, 2008.
SE7EN will be performing his debut single “Girls” (feat. Lil Kim) live.
EDIT: Also to add, the day after on December 14, 2008, SE7EN will also have another autograph session at the Verizon Wireless Store in Federal Way, WA.
According to the sign to the right, there is also a special sweepstakes to enter to earn an autographed version of his upcoming debut single ‘Girls’ (feat. Lil’ Kim).
Her pronunciation is the main problem, but I do not think that we should make a big deal about it. She is understandable and she can hold herself in interviews. Give it time and it will be pretty good.
As for bigger names…
BoA is performing LIVE in NYC Time Square studio. First official US debut and performance to mainstream American audiences. The performance will be shown on various MTV networks. They also provided a contest to those fans who want to meet her. Remember, December 3rd. We may actually see some real response then.
Here are some videos from the Youtube Live performance below if you didn’t get the chance to see it or want to see it again.

MySpace Message
BoA’s MySpace is official up and running and like SE7EN, she has provided a MySpace message via Youtube.
It has been known for quite a while that SE7EN would have a song that featured female entertainer Lil’ Kim. It has been recently been leaked onto the net (intentional? unintentional? At this rate, his whole album is going to come out before the actual release!).
Well, the latest track is one that has already been released–Them Girls, except it features Lil’s Kim. Check it out if you like. Someone posted a youtube video of the song on a Lil Kim forum, but it was taken down (RQM doing damage control). Though some people did make comments in it, and for the most part (as little as it is), they’ve been rather positive.
It has been said repeatedly that he should collaborated with American artists to help his debut. Lil’ Kim is really known, so hopefully it helps with his debut (whenever it is). This track has really spread like wildfire across the Internet through file-sharing sites. I’ve seen it through multiple non-kpop music blogs as well.
We have not heard any official news nor have they said anything about it. So what’s up RQM? Was it just leaked to hear the responses of the fans of Lil Kim and SE7EN? Or is this unintentional–because if it is, this is about the fifth song leaked (if you also count the revamped version of This is My Year).
Just like SE7EN before, BoA’s changing her image for America. They are trying to make her look more “sexy” or slutty if you prefer the latter. It’s all marketing. With SE7EN, they made him more masculine by buffing him up and cutting his hair to rid of the “pretty boy” look he had before. But unlike SE7EN, I don’t think this image change suits her. But America does not really go for the “cute” image that she has in Asia, right? I’ll do an analysis about SE7EN and BoA’s image change later.
Sorry, it has been quite a busy weekend, so I had no chance to update the blog. Anyway…
BoA will have her first global concert singing her US Single “Eat You Up” in November 22, 2008 at 8 PM EST (North America)/ November 23, 2008 at 3PM JST (Japan)…through YouTube LIVE. It will take place in both Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, CA, USA and the Shinkiba Studio Coast in Tokyo, Japan. BoA is the MC connecting the Tokyo and San Fran’s stage.
I have to say this is an extremely interesting tool to use live for a concert. If it is promoted right, imagine the number of viewers this will have. Being the connecting MC between the two concerts, BoA can potentially have an incredible amount of exposure in America. I mean not only does is include her, but big time American artist such as will.i.am, Akon, Souja Boy as well as stars (not limited to singers/musicians) who have become famous through YouTube on the American side. We have huge sponsors such as the maker of Guitar Hero, and Lionsgate. Well, we’ll see.
I was observing the rankings for Eat You Up for the past week since it had been released. It has been going up slowly on the iTunes top 10 on the Dance Charts going as high as #2. It has reached in the top 25 on Amazon mp3 downloads on Amazon (as far as #21 as I have seen it). I’ve taken various screenshots from various points of time (Canada and US included). There are more screencaps than what I am actually posting. Click to enlarge.
Now on it’s fourth day, EYU has dropped to # 80 on Amazon mp3 downloads (and is now $0.89 rather than $0.99 on iTunes) and has only dropped to number 3 on the Dance Chart on iTunes.
iTunes is more of a main source of a music, but that is quite a large and obvious drop on Amazon from her original location 21-25. I have yet to see another review on Amazon who states a claim about not hearing about her until now. On the other hand, her ranking on the Dance Charts is still quite steady. But do the Dance Charts really matter? A little. But there may be a difference between #1 and #2 or #3 on the Dance Charts in sales. Then compared to the Top Songs downloaded in general, the Dance Charts matter little I would think. We would need specific numbers. Just Dance is #1 in the Dance Charts on iTunes, but #32 on top 100, with Eat You Up no where to be seen.
It’s progress, but not yet success.
The real promotion has not even started yet. She has only appeared on a few non-Kpop/BoA related websites and has yet to make any public appearances. But they are starting soon. Once promotion goes into effect, then we shall see the real results.
You know the blog, BlakMusicFirst that released SE7EN’s “Girls” and “Your Number”? Well, when I was going through the Big Bang Soompi threads, cindy–rox found Make Love on their recent blog post for listen and download. Go find it. But I took a screenshot of it too. Click to enlarge the image.
They released SE7EN’s English songs and Big Bang is also part of YG with SE7EN. Did someone send it to them? They did request people to send “indie” stuff, but Big Bang is foreign, not independent. Nonetheless, it’s quite interesting to see their song on there.

Edit: Nevermind. I wasn’t full aware that they also post some Korean songs on their websites. I apologize. Thank you kayy for telling me this. I do and will speculate though even if they are artists though I should try less on the latter. They are my thoughts and my thoughts alone though; this is not a news site. I do very appreciate any corrections though. Thanks!
